Autumn Spice Oatmeal

Ingredients
  

  • 1.5 cups milk of choice
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup walnuts (broken into small pieces)
  • 3/4 cup finely diced bananas
  • 1/2 cup diced strawberries (frozen or fresh)
  • 1/2 cup applesauce

Instructions
 

  • Place milk in large saucepan over high heat and bring to boil.
  • As soon as milk begins to rise, add remaining ingredients and stir together.
  • Reduce heat to low and simmer 5-15 minutes, stirring frequently to break down bananas and berries until they are blended in and preferred consistency is reached.

Notes

While milk is boiling, get other ingredients ready to go: oats/cinnamon/walnuts in one bowl, bananas/strawberries in another, applesauce in measuring cup.
Frozen strawberries can be added whole. Use mixing spoon to pull them apart into small pieces once they soften.
